Choreography by Yan Eliezer Martinez
Yan Eliezer Martínez is a classical ballet dancer with more than 12 years of stage experience. His artistic background also includes performance, contemporary dance, theater, and music.
He currently performs with Kentucky Ballet, based in Lexington, Kentucky (USA). He has also performed with Ballet de Monterrey, working with prominent ballet figures such as Thiago Soares and Marcelo Gomes.
He was invited to Italy to participate in the International Ballet Seminar and Gala Performance in Puglia, contributing to his international exposure. He was also a semifinalist at Youth Grand Prix Mexico, one of the most important ballet competitions in the world for young dancers.
He has received scholarships for training programs in Canada, the United States, Chile, Mexico, and Italy, and is currently completing the final year of his Bachelor’s degree in Classical Dance (Special Program for Male Dancers) at the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey.
Icarus | Lazaro
Lazaro Francisco Ortega Avila was born in Havana, Cuba, and graduated from the Cuban National School of Ballet, where he earned his diploma in Ballet Performance and Teaching. In 2019, he joined the Cuban National Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet, performing numerous roles in the classical repertoire, including Alcia Alonso’s Giselle, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Coppelia, and Don Quixote, as well as Balanchine’s Theme and Variations. He also danced neoclassical works such as Alberto Mendez’s Munecos Pas de Deux, Poema de Fuego, and Suite Generis; Anabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Celeste; Uwe Scholz’s Seventh Symphony; and James Kelley’s Symphony for Nine Men. During this tenure with the company, he participated in several galas and festivals. In 2022, he joined Sibiu Ballet Theatre in Romania as a company dancer, performing roles including the Nutcracker Prince in The Nutcracker, the Golden Idol in La Bayadere, Flames of Paris Pas de Deux, The Slave and Merchant Pas de Deux, Marcello Algeri’s Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, and Cinderella. He toured extensively with the company both nationally across Romania and internationally throughout Europe. He was also invited as a guest artist to perform the role Franz in Coppelia as the Ballet Gala Teatro Comunale Mesagne in Italy. In 2025, he joined Kentucky Ballet Theatre in the United States as a company dancer.
